David leaves behind to cherish him in memory and love, his wife Darcel Robinson Lopes, his son Jelani A. Lopes, daughter Kai Y. Lopes-Stovell (Myron Stovell), Halim D. Lopes (Latia A. Lopes), his brother William J. Lopes Jr. (Billie Lopes), his Aunt Cynthia Morris, his sister-in-law Patricia Robinson Brown, his brothers-in-law Earl D. Robinson (Judy Robinson), Andre L. Robinson, seven grandchildren, loving cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and very special friends.
David's Homegoing services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Bethel A.M.E Church, 40 Walk Hill Street, Boston, MA 02130. Visitation and viewing will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The Interment will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery.

Darcel and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. No words can stop the pain of such a tremendous loss. I am sorry I was not able to attend the services. Please accept my deepest condolences. Be kind to yourself during this difficult time. Much love, Patricia

Such a loss. I worked with David when he co-chaired the Blue Hill Task Force. He along with a number of other leaders worked hard to bring more development to that important street in Boston. Through his leadership the taskforce took on some important decisions.
