David Boyd Lowe — Beloved Son, Brother, Father, Favorite Uncle, and Epic Deal-Hunter

David Boyd Lowe, 67, of Denver, North Carolina, was peacefully reunited with awaiting loved ones on July 28, 2025 — likely greeting him with open arms and a lit Salem (if we had to guess).

Born June 8, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, David spent most of his life giving more than he ever asked for — except when it came to flea markets, estate sales, or Craigslist deals too good to pass up.

David is survived by the real treasures of his life — his kids: Justin, Jacquelyn, Harrison, and Landon — who were the center of his universe and the lucky recipients of his love, life advice, and surplus of Tupperware full of leftovers. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Diana Lowe, a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, and anyone else who ever found themselves unexpectedly full at one of David’s gatherings.

He joins his brother Steve in the great swap meet in the sky — where they’re probably already trading drum sets and that same motorcycle back and forth like they’ve done for years. The daily phone calls, questionable purchases, and unmatched brotherly banter are now eternal.

If you know the infamous “Lowe Boys” you know they had a knack for telling the most captivating stories,The key ingredients: A garage and or driveway, lit cigarettes, folks circling around and laughter rippling through the air.

David was a proud and hard worker, spending 18 years in the airline industry as a foreman before switching gears into the trucking world. From hauling 18-wheelers to ensuring safety as a terminal manager, David was dependable, respected, and exactly the guy you’d want in your corner (or on your crew).

His passions? Estate sales. True crime shows. Tinkering with old cars. Feeding people like it was a competitive sport. (The Lowe family motto might as well be: If there’s not enough food to feed a small army, did it even happen?) He could spot a bargain from three zip codes away and would never pass up something he might need “one day.”

To know David was to know unwavering loyalty. He loved hard, protected fiercely, and gave endlessly. He’d drop everything for his people — and probably show up with a bag of fried chicken “just in case.”

David’s humor was dry, his heart was big, and his love language was breaking bread. There’s a family reunion beyond this world and Mary Katherine has her hands full once again.

In honor of David, we invite you to swing by a flea market, buy something entirely unnecessary (but so worth it), and feed someone like you love them.

We miss you dearly already, Dad. Say hi to the family, and save us a seat — preferably one in the shade.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00am at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, Ohio. Please gather at the cemetery entrance by 10:45am.
