David Lucarine Obituary

David J. Lucarine, 69, of Moscow, passed away Saturday evening at Geisinger Wyoming Valley after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. His wife is the former Maria Ahouse. The couple were married Aug. 29, 1981.

Born June 11, 1952, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Rocco and Virginia (Danforth) Lucarine. David was a 1970 graduate of North Pocono High School. Prior to his retirement, David was employed by New Jersey Transit Rail as a materials engineer.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dave. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. He loved a quiet evening with family, watching his favorite shows with a glass of wine in hand. He loved to vacation, but also loved quiet nights around a campfire. His true passion was his cars and he was always looking for the next best one.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, David Lucarine Jr., of Roaring Brook Twp.; Katrina Powell and husband, Jim, of Spring Brook Twp.; and Rocco Lucarine and wife, Julie, of Spring Brook Twp.; grandchildren, Alyssa Rousseau, Damon Powell, Juliana Powell, Kylee Lucarine, Liliana Lucarine and McKenzie Lucarine; his sisters, Janet Kenney, of Moscow; Joan Lucarine, of Moscow; and Linda Ruby, of Florida; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church St., Moscow, Pa., with the Rev. Thomas Muldowney, pastor, as celebrant.

Friends will be received Friday 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment and committal prayers will be conducted at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Twp., Pa.
