David Joseph Lytton

David Joseph Lytton "Joe", resident of Ranchester, WY passed away from Respiratory Illness on February 27, 2025, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital at the age of 79.
Joe was born April 28, 1945, to Everett and Ruth Lytton in Sheridan, WY. He was raised at the UT Ranch in Arvada. Joe was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1963 and went on to study welding at Sheridan College. Joe moved to Seattle Washington in 1968 where he worked for Boeing. While in Washington he also owned a painting business. Joe met the love of his life, Sue Lytton in Seattle. Shortly after meeting they moved back to Sheridan.
Once back in Sheridan Joe started working at Sheridan Iron Works. He went on to purchase the company in 1983. Joe was an exceptional welder and fabricator helping build a variety of pieces used around Sheridan, i.e. keys to the jail, custom parts for local ranches and custom railing for businesses. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or make. Joe was also able to fix anything with an engine. He was sharp as a tack and willing to help anyone.
Joe retired in 2016 and sold Sheridan Iron Works. Joe's favorite things were his German Shepherds, Harleys, extremely hard Sudoku puzzles, tinkering in the shop, and chocolate chip cookies.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ron Lytton, and granddaughter, Samantha Neve. He is survived by his wife, Sue Lytton (Ranchester), granddaughter, Amber (Mike) Cerwick, (Ranchester), sister, Shirley Weidt (Sheridan), daughters from his first marriage, Ruth Amanda Neve (Salt Lake City, UT), Elizabeth Rose (Floyd Earles), (New Plymouth, ID), his daughter from his second marriage, Cathy Porter (Jeff) (Lake Stevens, WA), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life in the summer of 2025 will be determined.
