David Frederick Prill

David (Skip) Frederick Prill, 79, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the VA Mountain View Living Center in Sheridan, WY.

Skip was born in Anchorage, AK to Leroy and Dorothy Prill. The family were one of the original settlers in the Matanuska Valley. The family relocated to Ranchester, WY where they lived for many years. Skip attended Tongue River High School where he met Peggy Sturdevant. They later married on December 31, 1966, after Skip returned from his service in Vietnam. Skip and Peggy had two children, Tina and Tracy. Skip worked for the family business Prill Brothers for many years before moving the family to Alaska in 1980 to start his own HVAC business. They later moved back to Wyoming and then to Washington State where Skip worked for the Federal Government until he retired. Skip and Peggy then returned to Alaska where they enjoyed many happy years.

Skip was a kind and gentle man. He never denied help to anyone. He had an endearing grin that people knew well. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and dog training. He competed and won many dog trials with his dog Misty. Skip also had the opportunity to hunt for moose and caribou in his time living in Alaska.

Skip is survived by his daughter Tina Prill from Mills, WY, son Tracy Prill from Mexico, grandchildren Lacey Debusk (Parker) from Mills, WY, Heather Devoe of Mills, WY, great-grandchildren Peyton Debusk, Raylan Debusk and Autumn Debusk all of Mills, WY. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Zeke Jackson, brother-in-law Jim Sturdevant (Debbie) and close family friends Tim and Michelle Kellar of Palmer, AK. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Prill, brother Bob Prill and parents Leroy and Dorothy Prill.
