David R. Magaldi

                                                         Devoted to his country and his family

 PROSPECT, CT – David Robert Magaldi, age 79 passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 17 at the Vitas Care Unit of St Mary’s Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Sheila (Galvin) Magaldi.  

David was born on March 24, 1945, in Waterbury, the son of the late John and Hazel (Newman) Magaldi. He was a graduate of Croft High School and Post University and proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed by Pratt and Whitney as a Welder and retired after 30 + years of service. David was an avid golfer, loved to read and enjoyed his many trips with Sheila to Myrtle Beach and Maine. He especially enjoyed the company and long walks with his beloved dog, Tammy. David will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.  

Left to honor his memory and legacy, besides his wife, of 44 years, are his daughter, Monica Jonas Cox (Shannon) of AZ and Stacey Cheatwood of TX, his sister Carol Magaldi, nephew, John Magaldi (Kim) and niece, Kathy Semeraro (Roger). He also leaves several other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, John Magaldi and his wife Rose Marie. 

 Funeral services for Mr. Magaldi will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Midd/South Parish, St John of the Cross Church 1263 West St Middlebury CT. Those planning to attend are kindly requested to go directly to the church. Burial will be private at the family’s convenience in the family plot at Lake Elise Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
