David "Dave" Clinton Malcolm, 84, passed away on January 9, 2025 under the compassionate care of Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Born on August 22,1940, Dave was born and raised in the Bridgeport and Morgantown areas of West Virginia. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and lived the majority of his life in Greenville, SC, where he had a successful career as an engineer and assistant plant manager for Union Carbide Corporation/Amoco. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, working in his yard, and serving as a deacon in his church. He was an avid worker of crossword puzzles and passed that passion onto many of his grandchildren!
Dave was a devoted husband for 58 years to his late wife, Elizabeth Patricia "Pat" Malcolm, a loving father to his two daughters, Elizabeth Malcolm Ours (Alan) and Rebecca Malcolm Sherrick (Burlin), and the greatest "PaPa" to his 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his daughters, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his brothers, Fred Malcolm and John Malcolm, and his sister, Carolyn Malcolm Wisman.
He is predeceased by his wife, Pat; his parents, Parker Maurice Malcolm and Geraldine Nuzum Malcolm; and his brothers, James Malcolm and Steve Malcolm.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. at https://www.nghs.com/hospice.
Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but they cling to the hope that they have in Jesus. Dave was a devoted Christian and is now celebrating in glory with his beloved wife and with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him.
