David "Mike" Marez, a man of great humor and boundless love, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 68.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannie Marez, father Pablo Marez, mother Mary Marez, sister Peggy Silva, and other beloved family members.
Mike is survived by son Julian Marez and life partner Maria; daughters: Angel Marez and life partner Ryan, Isadora Jaramillo and husband Chris; grandchildren: Valarie, Abel Jr. "AJ", Alexandria, Brian and Diego; brother Greg Marez and wife Marie; sisters: Kathy Evaro, Nancy Kozlowski and husband Tony, Paula Sanchez and Husband Johnny, as well many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Born on the first day of October in 1956, Mike lived a life that was as vibrant and spirited as his personality. Mike's passions were as diverse as they were profound. A master at the art of fishing and hunting, he found solace in the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the chase. His love for drag racing was more than just a hobby; it was a testament to his zest for life and the excitement of competition. Yet, it was in the kitchen where Mike's creativity truly shone through. His delicious pizzas were legendary among friends and family, and his love for seafood was unmatched.
One of Mike's proudest moments was when he purchased his own land and his home. This accomplishment was a dream realized, a place where he could put down roots and create countless memories. His home became a symbol of his dedication and hard work.
Mike's commitment to making everyone happy was evident in everything he did. His stubbornness and outspoken nature were matched only by his enormous heart and his desire to bring joy to those around him. He cherished every moment spent with his family, understanding that it was these times that truly mattered in life.
Described by those who knew him best as funny, loving, and thoughtful, Mike's sense of humor was infectious. His laughter could light up a room, and his thoughtful gestures spoke volumes of his deep care for others. Mike was the sort of man who would go out of his way to bring a smile to someone's face, making every day a little brighter for those he encountered.
David "Mike" Marez will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mike's Life Celebration will begin with a Viewing on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:30am at Salazar Mortuary. Service will begin at 11:00am.
