David Jerry Martin, 81, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025. David was born June 15, 1943 in Roswell, GA. David was the best Dad, Husband, Papa, Uncle and Friend to so many. A huge UGA football fan, his grandkids were his pride and joy, giving each a car or truck when they received their drivers license and always going to their softball games and swim meets. Employed as a land surveyor for 40 years, he and Louise enjoyed having coffee with their friends at McDonalds. David is preceded in death by his parents, P. Webster and Elvie Martin and his brothers and sisters, Everett Martin, Elizabeth Moore, Catherine Mullinax, Harold Martin, Marie Hendrix, Ray Martin and Andy Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Martin; children, Fran Martin (Jack) and David Martin; daughter-in-law, Lisa Martin; sister-in-law, Ruth Martin; grandchildren, Logan (Macie) Martin, Kendall Martin, Alli Martin; a great grandson, Sawyer Martin and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bacle Fowler, Rev. Calvin Bailey and Rev. William Raines officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
