David Lee McGuire, Jr., 56, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 13th, 2025 at Methodist Dallas Medical Center after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born on November 13, 1968, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Wilma Blythe and David McGuire Sr. David had his daughter, Tiana, and twin sons, Jesse and Jimmie Hooser, in 1989. Years later he was united in holy matrimony with Norma Chadwick in December of 2022. At that time he became a bonus dad to Norma's children and Grandpa to the grandchildren. He loved all of his children and grandchildren beyond words.
David gave his heart to the Lord and first served in music ministry at Fountaingate Fellowship in Abilene, Texas. It was there he played bass for Celebrate Recovery on the worship team. He continued that service to the Lord at Victory Assembly Church in Cisco, Texas where he was a member until his passing.
He was a mechanic and he worked for the railroad for 10 years. The last 5 years of his life were spent loving Jesus, Norma, their dogs, their kids, and their grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, music, playing pool, and living his life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Zakery David McGuire.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Norma, are his daughter Tiana McGuire of Tyler; sons Jesse Hooser (Makayla) and Jimmie Hooser of Borger; (Bonus Children) son Larry Chadwick (Brenda) of Comanche, daughter Jeanalea Moore (Brandon) of Cisco, ex-daughter-in-love Verna Chadwick of Cisco, daughter Nellie Rowles of Dumas, and daughter Lynn of New York; Sisters Jennifer Robinson of Washington, Michelle Frame of Dumas; Brother Johnny Taylor; (Bonus Sister) Carmen Aguayo Morris (Nick) of Colorado, (Bonus Brothers) David Aguayo of Florida and Jose Aguayo of Weatherford; five grandchildren, Charles Stephens, Briley Chadwick, Adelia Moore, Paisley Sims, & Grayson Sims. He was grandpa to all of the church kids and many others.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2025, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Victory Assembly Church, 203 E 8th Street in Cisco. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
David was without life insurance due to his illness. We are working toward funding his burial as cremation was against his wishes. If you would like to donate to his services you may do so via the donations tab on this obituary. Those funds go directly to the funeral home.
