David McQuade Obituary

David J. McQuade
David J. McQuade, 61, of Meriden, CT, passed away on April 7, 2025, in Meriden, Connecticut, after losing his battle with a long illness. David was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, to John and Julia Keeley McQuade on August 9, 1963. He was a 1981 graduate of H.C. Wilcox Vocational-Technical School in Meriden. David was married to Rachelle Nolan on August 5, 1993, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He worked as a Network Administrator for 25 years. David loved fishing at local lakes throughout Connecticut and boating with his family at Bashan Lake. He took joy in sharing the "zukes, cukes, and tomaters" grown in his garden with friends and neighbors. David was a skilled jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. He volunteered with the local YMCA gymnastics team and spent countless hours driving throughout New England to attend his daughter Sarah's meets. He also enjoyed cheering on his daughter, Maggie, in the YMCA youth theatre group productions. David was predeceased by his brother, John McQuade, and his parents, John and Judy McQuade. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah and Maggie; his wife, Rachelle (Shelley) McQuade; his mother-in-law, Nancy Nolan of Cheshire; his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Art Zvejnieks of Meriden; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Kim McQuade of Farmington, Kentucky; his sister-in-law, Noreen McQuade of Middlefield; his niece, Kayla McQuade, and grandnephew, Brody, of East Lyme; his nephew and niece, Robert McQuade and Julie McQuade of Anaheim, California; his nephew, Jesse McQuade, and grandnephew and grandniece, Caleb and Hope McQuade of Glastonbury. Family and friends may gather at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, on Monday April 14, 202,5 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, in Cheshire.
