John "David" Meadows, age 63, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on January 3, 2026. He was born in Georgia on February 3, 1962, son of Martha Plunkett Davis and the late Larry Paul Meadows.
David was an outdoorsman and beloved family man. He lived a life filled with hands-on skill, adventure, and unwavering love for family, friends and nature. A lifetime mechanic, he took pride in fixing what others thought was beyond repair. He cherished the outdoors spending time fishing and tending to the family lake with his faithful dog Rusty. Rusty was always ready for adventures whether riding in the boat around the lake or on David's Harley. Rusty rode with him with pride, a true partner in every journey.
He is survived by his daughter: Chelsea Langley and her husband Chris; his beloved companion his dog: Rusty; sisters: Carmen McFearin, Aundie Duckett and her husband Jeff; nieces and nephews; Abbie Murphy and her husband Cooper, Auburn Grace, Patrick Duckett, uncle: Dan Meadows and his wife Jean; aunt: Kathy Ann Bass and husband Rodney McGaughey; cousins: Scott Meadows and his wife Bonnie, Gwen Gravett and her husband Randy, Tamara Copeland and her husband Clyde, Hunter Copeland, John Davis and his wife Barbara.
He is preceded in death by his father: Larry Paul Meadows and his uncles: Jack Meadows, Tommy Bass; grandparents: Ewell and Effie Plunkett, Ralph and Irene "Mama Rene" Meadows.
The family will receive friends at Sweetwater Baptist Church for food and fellowship on Saturday, January 10, 2026
from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. and Service will follow in the chapel.
