Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. David Walter Measel, 77, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at The Gathering Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Tim Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Measel was born on March 30, 1947, and passed away on August 3, 2024. He was a believer and loved the Lord his whole life. David was a devoted husband for 48 years, was a gentle guiding father to his girls and a loving grandfather. He had a handshake and kind smile for everyone he met. His favorite places were in church with his family, in a duck blind or on the golf course.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Sue Measel of Huttig, AR and wife, Judith Kay Bennett Measel.
Survivors include his daughters, LaKasha Nicole Strickland of West Monroe, LA and Stephanie Ann Eubanks and husband, Justin of Columbia, LA; and his grandchildren, Peyton, Bella, Sebastian, Will, Sage, and Sadie.
Pallbearers will be Justin Eubanks, Jeremy Strickland, Peyton Strickland, Christopher Ham, Donnie Wallace, and Earl Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Ham, Vernon Sullivan, and Jim York.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
