David Anthony Medina

David Anthony Medina was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 2, 1989, and passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2025. He was raised with love and care by his devoted mother and aunt, Lourdes Gabriela Medina, and was cherished and loved by his biological mother, Elizabeth Medina Contreras. His maternal grandmother, Martha Medina, and his aunts, Sylvia Medina, Lydia Miller, and Margarita James, also served as mother figures in his life and loved him deeply.

He is survived by his biological father, Ralph Contreras, and his brothers, Ralph Jr. Contreras and Alfredo Contreras. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Antonio Medina ("Apa"), and his uncle, David Medina ("Papi Tio"), who thought the world of him and was a loving father figure to David Anthony as well.

David Anthony is also survived by his beloved daughter, Mercedes Milani Medina, who was his world and the light and love of his life. He enjoyed talking to her daily, playing video and card games, taking her out to lunch, and spending time with Mercedes and her little sister, Aliyah Huerta, whom he loved and adored as a daughter as well.

David Anthony was a kind and honest man who loved his family with his whole heart. He will always be remembered for his love and friendship, his jokes, and his passion for cooking, music, and wrestling. His love, joy, and laughter will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

A funeral service for David Anthony will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on September 7, 2025, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
