Ricardo S. Castro passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born on February 13, 1952, to Severiano S. Castro and Maria De Jesus Soto.

He was the first college graduate in the family, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1978. He was employed by the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center as a social worker.

Ricardo gave of his time and expertise at the Good Samaritan Center of San Antonio and was a lifelong member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He was also an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.

Ricardo is reunited in Heaven with his parents and two brothers, Jose Antonio Castro and Severiano Castro, Jr.

He was loved and will be missed by his family including his two surviving brothers, Pedro Castro and Francisco Castro, and several nephews and nieces, to whom he was dedicated, including Maria Elena Castro, Joe Castro, Jr., Melissa Castro Killen, Veronica Castro, Sebastian Castro-Test, Rene Castro-Test, Michael Castro, Elizabeth Ann Castro, and Jefferey Garcia.

In addition to flowers, the family kindly requests any donations be sent to St. Timothy Catholic Church in Ricardo's memory.
