David Mella Obituary
"Beloved Brother & Godfather"
David F. "Dave" Mella, 68, of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Waterbury Hospital.
David was born in Waterbury, CT on April 23, 1957, the son of the late Louis and Grace (Granato) Mella. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School Class of 1975. David received his associates degree from Naugatuck Valley Community College Class of 1981. He worked as an inspector for ITT Veam LLC in Watertown for over 20 years before retiring from Electro-Tech, Inc. in Cheshire in 2023. David enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was an avid Mets, Cowboys and Jets fan. He served as an usher and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
David leaves his sister, Sharon L. Mella of Waterbury, a Goddaughter, Amia Brackett of Waterbury, his aunt and uncle, Louis and Louise Demeo of Mashpee, MA, a cousin, Christopher Demeo of Dedham, MA and two second cousins, Paige and Laura Demeo.
The family would like to thank the staff of Critical Care, Telemetry and Pomeroy 7 at Waterbury Hospital for his exceptional care during his illness.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2026 from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. A calling hour will be held Monday, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
