Nicholas A. LoRusso, 61, of Bethany, a long time resident of Town Plot, Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his residence. He was the beloved partner of Rose Ruggles for 13 years.
Nick was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on July 16, 1964, a son of the late William D. and Judy R. (Gray) LoRusso. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School Class of 1982 and he attended Mattatuck Community College. Nick was an entrepreneur, having been in many industries, including Municiple Department for the City of Waterbury for 9 years, former owner of Magic Hands Detail Shop, a talented used car salesman, having owned his own lot in Naugatuck, and proprietor of Pit Stop Wine & Liquor Store, to name a few.
Nick was an excellent cook and made a classic pasta fagioli for his family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast and athlete, having excelled in baseball. He cherished his faithful dog, Rex, who never left his side.
Besides his partner, Rose, Nick leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his son, Billy LoRusso of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Jenna LoRusso of Wolcott; his sister, Yvette Wall and her husband, Paul Mingrino of Bethany; a nephew, Austin Pieck of New York, NY; and his former wife and mother of his children, Sue (Azzara) LoRusso of Wolcott.
Arrangements: Calling hours for Nick will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. A prayer service will be on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date at the convenience of the family.
