Gastonia David Allen Minnick, 48, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. A native of Fairfax County, VA., he was the son to the late Stanley and Dorothy Bynaker Minnick. David was a loving husband and father and was a muscle car enthusiast. He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church andwas a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country for ten years in the U.S. Army, enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and playing bingo. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Murphy Minnick of Alphretta, GA, five sons; Jeff and David Minnick of Gastonia, Kenneth, Danieland Joshua Minnick of Georgia, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Stanley Minnick, Jr. and wife, Laura of Wisconsin, Gregory and wife, Jennifer Minnick of Virginia, three sisters; Shirley Wheeler of New York, Donna Downs of Missouri and Glenda and husband Charles Fagan of Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, July 11, 2011 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, with Father Frank Cancro officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:45pm prior the service in the sanctuary. Interment with Military Rites will be at Evergreen –"A Quiet Place", Belmont, NC. Memorials in the name of David Allen Minnick may be sent to Knights of Columbus, c/o Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church; 503 N. Main St., Belmont, NC 28012.
