David Randal Morris, 37, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Thursday evening, January 11, 2024, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.
David was born December 12, 1986, in Columbus, GA to Rickey David Morris and Tracy Lee Dennis Underwood. David was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at a young age. He was determined and optimistic with an attitude of enthusiasm about his life as he got older. He always displayed a smile to everyone who knew him or met him. David was a 2005 graduate of Smiths Station High School. He was creative, gifted and was a self-taught graphic designer, he enjoyed camping with his family, campfires, and pulling pranks and jokes on everyone he could. He loved eating at Country’s BBQ Downtown, and he loved spending time with his family, especially all the fellowship, stories, and special moments. He was a Christian by faith.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Thomas Dennis and Helen Carol Dennis, and his paternal grandfather, Charles Morris.
He is survived by his mother, Tracy Lee Underwood; his father, Rickey Morris and wife Robin who loved him as her own son; one brother, Michael Ippolito and wife Natascha; his paternal grandmother, Sharon Morris; aunts and uncles, Christie Berry and husband Darren, Tommy Dennis and wife Kim, Brandon Dennis, and Andy Morris and wife Kim; numerous cousins, other loving family members, and many caring friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am EST Tuesday morning, January 16, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City Rev. Jonathan Moore officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home in Phenix City. David’s final place of rest will be private by his loving family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to MDA, hospice, or Easter Seals in loving memory of David Randal Morris.
