DAVID MURDOCK Obituary

David C. Murdock passed away unexpectedly while helping neighbors during the August flood. Born October 16, 1958, in Elmira, N.Y., he was the son of the late John D. and Dorothy (Outman) Murdock of Knoxville.
Dave graduated from Troupsburg High School in 1976 and from Elmira College in 1980.
He worked at the Westfield tannery from 1980 until 2003. He continued his work in the leather industry as a partner at Keystone Leather in Williamsport until his retirement in 2018.
Dave was active in the community; he was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church, River Valley Country Club, Deerfield Charitable Trust, and the Baker Foundation.
He enjoyed golfing, gardening, taking care of the family properties, and supporting Cowanesque Valley athletics. He loved spending time with his many friends and family. His personality and character could be best described by the phrase: "Always a smile, never an unkind word."
He and his loving wife, Lynne (Grace) Murdock married October 6, 1984, and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary later this year.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: John R. and Mandy Murdock of Wilcox, Pa., Andrew Murdock and Joel Rhodes of Waitsfield, Vt., Carley Murdock of Conshohocken; and his granddaughters, Claire and Elsie who he deeply adored. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Lynn Lawrence of Sunset Beach, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Lawrence and his sister, Randi Lawrence.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dave Murdock Community Fund, c/o C&N Bank, PO Box 268, Knoxville, PA 16928.
The Murdock family would like to express a heartfelt thank you for the outpouring of love and support and asks for continued prayers as the search for closure continues.

My condolences to Mr. Murdock“s family. He knew my dad, Felipe Jasso, when my dad worked with Justin Boots. Mr. Murdock was always so kind and my dad spoke so highly of him. He was very well respected and loved by many. My continued prayers for the family to get closure so they can begin healing.
