Pierson’s Funeral ServiceDavid Alexander Murison passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1939, in Calgary Alberta. Eldest son of Dave and Grace Murison. He attended Saskatoon School for the Deaf and later the Edmonton School for the Deaf, before training for 10 years under his father, a Certified General Accountant. David went on to spend 35 years with Southern Music Ltd.
Deeply dedicated to community service, he was a lifetime member of the Calgary Association for the Deaf and an active member of the North Hill Lions Club, where he served as Treasurer, Vice-President, and President. His contributions were recognized with the prestigious Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal.
A passionate Calgary Stampeders fan, he proudly held season tickets for over 50 consecutive years, beginning at Mewata Stadium.
Though profoundly deaf from birth and totally blind in his final four years, David lived with resilience, dedication, and a generous spirit that enriched all who knew him.
David will be lovingly remembered by his brother, John (Suzanne) Murison, nephew, Shawn (Sheena) Murison; great-nephews and niece, Tynan, Zayn and Shaylin. He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew; and sister, Susan.
