David Lee Myers of Framingham, MA, passed away on July 8th, 2025. He was born on January 7th, 1949, in Punxsutawney, PA, to the late Thomas and Isabelle (Reitz) Myers. Beloved husband of Donna Marie Arena-Myers. Devoted father of David M. Myers and his wife Jessica of Westerly, RI, Jennifer Nissi and her husband Dan of Washington, VT, and Stephen Arena Sr. and his wife Barbara of Haines City, FL. Loving grandfather of Isabella and Alex Myers, Elijah Genese, Stephen Jr., Julia, Olivia Arena, and Antonio and Marcello Nissi. Cherished brother of Dorothy Hollis and her late husband, Terry, Thomas Myers and his wife Judy, and William Myers and his late wife Cheryl, all of PA.
Dave proudly grew up in Punxsutawney, PA, contributing to the first undefeated-untied football season in the history of the Punxsutawney Area High School, and graduating in 1966. He served in the United States Navy as an Interior Communications Electrician Petty Officer First Class on the USS Swordfish for six years, stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and in a nuclear submarine in the Pacific during the Vietnam War. Dave has been decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, a Navy Unit Commendation, and an honorable discharge on July 12th, 1974.
Post-service, Dave pursued a career in civil and nuclear engineering, completing a degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University in 1984. He was a valued employee at Eversource for forty-four years. Additionally, Dave was acknowledged at the 28th Perini Invitational Hockey Tournament in 2000 for his passion and dedication during a fifteen-year career with Framingham Youth Hockey and thirteen years with the Perini Invitational Committee.
Dave, "Dad", "Papa", enjoyed hunting deer in PA, golfing, sports, and above all, valued quality time with family. His legacy of hard work, perseverance, and commitment lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
The Myers and Arena families extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital for their care and to all who sent prayers.
Visiting hours will take place on Monday, July 14th, from 3-7 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, July 15th, at 11 AM.
