David Keith Neal 86, of Stinesville, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 14th, 2025, surrounded at home by his wife Judy and family.

A beloved son, David was born on February 28, 1939, to Holland and Mary Elizabeth Neal in Bloomington, Indiana. He graduated from Ellettsville High School in 1957. On September 6, 1958, David began a 66-year long marriage with Judith Muriel Taylor in a simple ceremony with only the pastor and two witnesses. David and Judy created a family together with four children. Warren David, wife Brenda (Walcott); Richard Keith, wife Leslie (Martin-Bandy), Kathy Jo (Neal) Abell, husband Mark: and Douglas Edward, wife Shannon (Livingston).

Although he retired from Indiana University (Memorial Union Building) in 1998 after 36 years of service; God, his family, farming and his military service brought him the most happiness. He was a very proud retiree of the Army National Guard and member of the American Legion, Burton Woolery Post 18 in Bloomington, Indiana. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Gosport, Indiana and Northside Christian Church in Englewood, Florida. In his younger years he served his community as a church deacon, a Bean Blossom Township volunteer fireman, a HUD representative and various other volunteer opportunities. After he retired, David continued to enjoy his family, farm and 26 winters at Holiday Travel Park (HTP) in Englewood, Florida. He loved sunny, warm Florida and especially the many friends he made throughout the years at HTP and at Northside Christian Church. Englewood was his home away from home!

David was predeceased by his parents, Holland and Mary Elizabeth Neal; Judy's parents, Carl and Anna Taylor; a dearly loved daughter-in-law, Diana Neal, several brothers and sisters-in-law, two nieces and two nephews.

He is survived by his wife Judy, and three sisters: Virginia Kirk, Mary Payton and Lorina DeWar as well as his four children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends. Grandchildren: Kambie (Neal) Powell, husband Joey; Jason Neal, wife Mariah; Leslie (Abell) Keener, husband Dustin; Luke Abell, wife Amanda; Cody Neal, wife Veronica; Shailie Neal, partner Robert Lee; Alexi Neal, partner Carter Wolf; Tyler Neal, wife Ariel; Great-grandchildren: Mark Abell, Berkley Keener, Zayden Neal, Brayden Cox, Brason Keener, Camden Neal, Madelynn Cox, Jaxon Abell, Jocelynn Cox, Bella Neal, Coralynn Lee, Ridge Neal, Breck Neal

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and again the day of services from Noon to time of services at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Monday, June 23rd at 1:00 pm . Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens with full military rights presented by the Monroe County Honor Guard.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Heart to Heart Hospice of Bloomington, Indiana for their amazing support and care during his final days.
