David Newton, 79, of Leominster, MA David Newton, 79, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 17, 2025 surrounded by family. Born to the late Alfredo and Palma (Christofono) Newton on September 10, 1946, David spent most of his life in the Fitchburg and Leominster area, where he built a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for family.

David leaves behind his beloved wife of 26 years, Sandra Newton, as well as his son, Craig Newton, and his wife Michelle Allain-Newton of North Carolina. He is also survived by his stepson, Christopher Scott of Boston and his fiancée Linnet Pardo; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew, Aisha, Nicholas, and Bryce; as well his great granddaughter Aria. He was greatly loved by many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his siblings Kenneth Newton, Judy Valencourt, and Joan Gopfert as well as his Daughter-in-law Christine Newton.

A proud veteran, David served his country in Korea during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 and was a member of the VFW.

David worked for many years at James River until an injury in the early 1980s changed his career path. Always determined to provide for his family, he held various jobs over the years, including car sales with several local dealerships, and later became an entrepreneur, owning a hot dog stand, a video rental store, and even owning his own used car dealership for a period of time.

While he was an avid Boston sports fan, David also enjoyed participating in horseshoes, golf, and pool. He was a talented bowler, earning second place in the Sentinel & Enterprise bowling tournament-a highlight he was especially proud of.

Above all, David will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his quick wit, and the way he found joy in life's simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared by those who knew him, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit and love will remain with all who had the honor of knowing him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 128 Main St., Leominster on Monday, September 29, at 11:00 A.M. Burial with military honors at the Veteran's Cemetery in Winchendon will take place at a later date.
