George Aimee Mercier passed away peacefully on September 22, 2015, in Sterling, MA. Born on July 5, 1940, in Fitchburg, MA to parents George (Bob) Francis Mercier and Henriette (Betty) L. Dion.

George was predeceased by his late wife, Janet F. Mercier (Langevin). He is survived by his brother, Bob Mercier (wife Louise), his sister, Carol Gibbs, his four children, Steven Mercier, Joan Mercier, David Mercier (wife Annie), and Gail Mercier. He loved his role as a grandfather to his six grandchildren, Cameron Salvatelli, Sarah Salvatelli, Sean Pinder, Timothy Mercier, Kevin Mercier, and Brian Mercier and three great-grandchildren, Franki Salvatelli, Camila Salvatelli and Kaden Pinder.

After graduating from high school, he honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and commitment. Following his military service, George embarked on a successful career as an engineer and as a customer service manager with Vee Arc Corporation.

An avid gardener, he found solace and pleasure in the tranquility of his garden. His favorite place was York Beach, Maine where he took his young family for yearly vacations. His love for reading often led him to the Leominster Library, where he would immerse himself in the world of books. George was also known for his love of walking, a hobby that kept him active.

Calling hours will be held at Richardson's Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, MA on Monday, September 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Following will be a celebration of life at Gail's home.
