David Oksen, 83, of Lincroft, NJ passed away of sudden cardiac arrest on Monday, September 22, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1941 in Rahway, NJ to Albert and Doris (Pellett) Oksen.

David was raised by his father and his three maiden aunts: Ingeborg, Lydia, and Augusta Oksen in Perth Amboy, NJ. He graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1959, and then graduated from Monmouth College in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He also received his Master's Degree in Education from Seton Hall University in 1971. David loved teaching and was also loved by his students, as evidenced by being the teacher to whom the school yearbook was dedicated early in his career. David spent his entire 37-year teaching career in the Matawan Regional School system, where he taught 8th grade Social Studies.

David met and fell in love with his beloved wife Mary Ann (Massengill) Oksen while walking the halls during their duty period at Lloyd Road School in Matawan, and they were married on August 14, 1971. They were married for 54 years and had three children: John, Daniel (deceased), and Debby. When not teaching, David especially loved Corvettes and car shows, spending time with his family whenever possible, traveling, and cooking. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank for over 50 years.

David is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his two children John (and Holly), and Debby (and Jason), and six grandchildren: Hunter, Hayley, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Carolyn, and Caitlyn.

Visitation will be held October 2, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at John E Day Funeral Home in Red Bank, NJ. Memorial Services will be held at 10 am on October 3, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank, in Red Bank, NJ. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
