David Walter Paczak, 65, passed away on July 18, 2025.
Dave was born in Rockford, Illinois on December 4, 1959 to Walter and Ann Paczak. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Patricia, with whom he shared over four decades of laughter, partnership, and unwavering support.
Dave is survived by his wife Patricia; sister Deborah (Fred) Schiappa; daughters Jamie (Sam) Achey, Kelly (Dan) Marsh, Lindy Paczak; and three grandchildren. He lit up every room with his sense of humor, even in the hardest of times.
Dave worked as an accountant for 35 years, known not only for his strong work ethic, but also for the kindness and integrity he brought to every professional relationship. Outside the office, Dave was a lover of jazz, rock, and folk music. He was a talented guitarist and singer who always kept the Paczak household lively with music.
Dave will be remembered for his sharp wit, his steady presence, and the unconditional love he gave to those around him.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until time of sharing at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
