It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. David W. Parr, who passed away peacefully at his home on January 17, 2025, at the age of 77. His relationship with God was central to his life, and he sought to live out his faith every day through acts of kindness and service to others. His legacy of faith, hope, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
David was born on the 15th of January 1948, in Douglasville, Georgia. A devout Christian, David was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, where he served in various capacities and shared his faith with all who knew him. He spent countless hours volunteering at church and in his community. His charitable work and willingness to lend a helping hand were a reflection of his caring heart and desire to make a positive impact on those around him. He was a proud alumnus of the University of West Georgia, where he earned his MBA and laid the foundation for a successful career. David spent many years working as a business banker, retiring after a long and fulfilling career. Throughout his professional life, he was known for his integrity, dedication, and the genuine care he showed his clients and colleagues. He lived his life as a humble servant of God.
He was married to his soulmate Mrs. Karen Kasaback Parr, with whom he shared many years of love and happiness before her ascension to her eternal life in heaven in July of 2017. Together, they created a home filled with faith, love, and warmth. After Karen's passing, David found new joy and companionship with Beth. We believe God put these two together to remind each other how to love and live fully! The two were married in 2020, and together built the cabin of David's dream in Clarkesville. In the past few years, they had the opportunity to create cherished memories as they traveled together, experiencing the beauty of the world and enjoying each other's company.
David was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a Freemason, a member of the Douglasville Moose Lodge # 289.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Parr; his sisters, Mildred Quinlon, Diane King (Tim), Dee Turpin; brothers, Frank Parr (Marsha), Harold Parr (Margie), Jim Parr (Beth), Phil Parr (Lisa); step-children, Aimee Caudell, Elise Gottlieb, and Anna Marie DiPalma and many dear friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Parr; his father, Robert Chester Parr; mother, Lucy Kate Queen Parr; brother, Bob Parr.
Visitation will take place at the church on Monday morning from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Eric Parr, Seth Parr, Bart Parr, Keith Johnson, Brian Caudell, Brendan Gottlieb will be serving as pall bearers. Finn will be serving as honorary pall bearer.
David's family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
John 14:1-3 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

I will miss Dave! He was an outstanding Banking Colleague and Friend during our time together at Regions Bank. He was also my favorite Georgia Tech fan. God Bless you Beth and sincere sympathy to Dave´s family.

Dave was such a gentle soul who was kind and respectful to everyone he met. I first met Dave when we were both attending Grief Share. Dave was still grieving for his wife, Karen, and I for my wife, Cindy. It was this shared experience and journey that formed a bond of friendship - something that I was very grateful for. Even after the class ended we met occasionally for lunch or dinner. Even after he and Beth moved to Clarksville we would meet for lunch. I have attached a picture of us having lunch at The Attic in Cleveland.

I will deeply miss my friend - his humor, his kindness and insights. I know he is in heaven with his brother and Karen. While I am grieving for him I know that he is in a better place. Godspeed Dave!
