David Lynn Parrish

David Lynn Parrish, 77, of Star City, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness.
David was born on May 27, 1948 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Willis Lyle and Betty Jean McInturff Parrish.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Cynthia Parrish; his children, Joe Parrish and his significant other Ondrea Smith of Fairmont, Jonathan Parrish and his partner Trista King of Fairmont, Marianne Mike and her companion Lucien Schroyer of Morgantown, and Kevin McHenry and his wife Kat of Columbus, OH; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Brooklyn, Matthew, and Skylar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.
David was a devoted family man and would do anything for them. He was proudest of his military service. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He completed three tours in Vietnam and when his service was completed, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves. He then completed his military journey with the Army National Guard.
Friends may join the family to honor David's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover on Friday, December 19th from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. At the conclusion of the visitation, a funeral procession will leave for West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, where a graveside committal service with Full Military Honors accorded will be held.
