PATRICK Veteran, Farmer, Oilman, Father, Papa, David Patrick, 76, a native of Skiatook, OK., rode into the sunset December 28, 2024. David was born in Skiatook and lived there all his life.
David acquired his college degree in agriculture where he spent his life farming his fields in Osage County. David also spent years working for the family oil business as a gauger.
As a young man, David answered another call-his country's. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he showed the same grit and resilience that defined his life on the farm.
Returning home, David resumed the cowboy and farming life with a deeper appreciation for the land and its simple, honest rewards. David's greatest joys were found in the companionship of his wife of 50 years, Rita, and the family they built together. By telling old stories David's warmth and humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
David was an Elder of the First Christian Church, Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita Gail Patrick; daughter, Aleacia Newby; son, Justin; son-in-law, Lane Newby; soon to be daughter-in-law, Tiffany Kainer; 2 grandchildren, Jesse Newby and Savannah Newby; brother, Jim Patrick; sister, Patsy Schippers, Sister-in-law, Margaretta Patrick; bother-in-law, Dr. Skip Schippers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Milton and Verona Patrick.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Christian Church in Skiatook, the American Legion, or your favorite charity.
