Stephen John Patrick, 76, who passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his residence in Youngsville, LA. Inurnment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA. Stephen John Patrick, was born August 17, 1948, in San Jose, California and was a resident of Acadiana. He was a proud veteran and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Stephen was the recipient of the American Defense Service Medal. After his time in the service, Stephen worked as a Director of Computer Services. He began his career at University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, in Wisconsin, for 14 years. Afterwards, he continued his career at Bradley University, in Illinois, for 14 years and later Illinois College for 7 years until his retirement. Stephen enjoyed reading books and playing games with family and friends. He loved traveling with his wife and visiting different places in their RV. Stephen was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, LA. After retirement, Stephen most enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and liked to watch football, cook and garden. Family meant everything to Stephen, and he leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Annette Dugas Patrick, of Lafayette, LA; his three sons, Jeff Patrick and his wife, Amanda, of Glasford, Illinois, Nick Patrick and his wife, Erin, of Athens, Alabama and Dan Patrick, of Omaha, Nebraska; his daughter, Renee Patrick and her partner, Kirk Barnes, of Bend, Oregon; his two brothers, Roger Patrick and his wife, Dee, of Oregon and Dennis Patrick and his wife, Star, of California; his two sisters, Barbara Patrick and Donna East, both of California; his six grandchildren, Ryan Patrick, Josh Patrick, Sarah Patrick, Emily Patrick, Owen Patrick and Riley Patrick and numerous dear nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Roland and Flora Arminda Cunningham Patrick and his son, Ben Patrick. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hope Hospice of Lafayette and wonderful aides from Senior Helpers Agency of Lafayette for the compassionate care given to Stephen and his family.
