David Harold Petrie, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025, with his children by his side.
David was born July 26, 1933, to Harold and Pauline Petrie in Clawson, Michigan. He had one brother, Danny.
He attended St. Paul Bible College where he met his future wife and best friend Ann. They were married in 1957 in Seattle, Washington. They had three children and eventually settled in Indianapolis in 1964. Their family exemplified a steadfast love for one another, for others, and, most importantly, the Lord.
David’s life was marked by his unwavering obedience and faithfulness to the Lord, and a deep and abiding love for God’s Holy Word, the Bible. David was a humble, gentle, and kind man. He used his musical gift to minister within the church, as well as other opportunities. Countless people were blessed when he played the piano.
David joins his wife, parents, brother, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law who have all gone to be with the Lord.
He is survived by his three children Mary Lynn and David Wick, Mark and Debra Petrie, and Susie Hummel. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren (including spouses), and 14 great grandchildren.
His children would like to extend heartfelt thanks to The Forum and AsceraCare Hospice.
David was committed daily to “growing in the grace and knowledge of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ — to him be glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen!” II Peter 3:18
