Obituary of David F. Phillips, Jr.
SCHENECTADY –
David F. Phillips, Jr., 60, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
The son of the late David F. Phillips Sr. and Dorothy Phillips, David Jr. was born on December 8, 1963 in Brentwood, NY, where he was raised.
Mr. Phillips was employed in the culinary industry as a chef his entire life. Warmly remembered by his family as a hardworking man who was passionate about cooking, David also enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and was an avid sports fan. (His favorite football team was the NY Giants, his favorite baseball team was the NY Yankees). But most of all, David enjoyed spending time with his family during cookouts.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 26 years, Mary Phillips, whom he married on June 22, 1998 in Albany, NY. His children: Amata Graziano (Phillips), Emily Casiano (Phillips), David F. Phillips III, Derek A. Phillips His stepchildren: Anthony LaRose and Elmanuel Casiano III. His grandchildren: Gianna and Elijah. His siblings: Karen Harding (Phillips), Kim Phillips, Victoria Phillips, Ray Phillips and Keith Phillips.
The Phillips Family wishes to acknowledge The Hospice Inn and nurses that work at St. Peter's Hospital, especially Cynthia "Cindy" Howe for caring for David in the end during his battle with Colon Cancer.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The Phillips Family will honor David's memory in private.
