David Ernest Polzin

Passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 18, 2026. Age 81 at Covenant Health Care, Harrison. David was born on February 16, 1944 the son of the late Raymond and Isabelle (Chisholm) Polzin. David honorably served in the United States Army where he met the love of his life Miguelina. After David's discharge, he traveled back to the Dominican Republic and was united in marriage to Miguelina Thomen on May 12, 1967. David enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, golfing and deer hunting. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, putting together jigsaw puzzles and building random things with them. He will be missed dearly.

David is survived by his loving wife; Miguelina "Mimi", his children; Kathy (Keith Slater) Massey and David (Jennifer) Polzin, 6 grandchildren; Emma and Eric Massey, Alexander Westendorf-Polzin, Brooklynn Ketterman, Austin Turner, Madisson Polzin, a brother; Carl (Sheila) Polzin, sister in-law; Maria Isabel Thomen and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Michael Brian Massey and son in-law, Brian Massey, siblings, Ronald (Patricia) Polzin and JoAnn Polzin.

Visitation for David will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty Rd.) followed by Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439 and United States Army at 5:00. Committal services will take place on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Pastor Julie Bailey to officiate.
