PRINCETON – David John Prox went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 17, 2025. He was born on April 8, 1940 in Warren, Ohio and was the son of Frank and Anne Smith Prox.
He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. He went on to get a degree from Youngstown State University in Civil Engineering. He worked, first, for Blawknox, next for Alcoa, and then for PPG; all being located in Pittsburgh, PA. Ten years later, he started working for the W.B. Saunders Book Company as a salesman.
David was fitness oriented and took great pride in running "around the world twice" having documented 50,000 miles. He ran several marathons including the Boston Marathon; which he ran twice. He also got his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do at the ago of 73.
He lived in Pittsburg, PA, then later moved to Florida after retirement. His final days were spent in Princeton, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Connie Lawrence Prox; sons, Paul Prox and companion Monica, and Douglas Prox and companion Jen; daughter, Karen Zaborowski and husband Duane; step-sons, Mark Clark and wife Lisa, and Jeffrey Clarke and wife Rachael; one brother, Phillip Rawlins and wife Jan; and eleven grandchildren
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton with Fr. Sebastian Devasya as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may call at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 with the Christian Wake Service being conducted at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, PO Box 1310, Princeton, WV 24740.
