David Eugene Ritter, born on August 26, 1950, in Elwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at his residence in Elwood with his loving wife Barbara "Baby Doll" and beloved pets, Corkey, Cooper, and Bella by his side. David was a beloved figure in the community, known for his kindness and the love he had for his family and friends. He had a distinguished career in the steel industry, working at Steel Parts in Tipton, IN, and retiring in 2015 after several years of dedicated service. A man of many hobbies, David enjoyed working on his Camaro, riding his Harley, playing with his beloved pets Corkey, Cooper, and Bella, and spending time with his friends at local restaurant especially Wendy's to meet the "pack" Ed, Dave, Red, and Rick and going to the Eagles Lodge in Alexandria.

David was a man of great faith and was a regular attendee of the Joy Christian Church, where his faith and fellowship brought him great comfort. He had a love for the simple pleasures in life, such as feeding the squirrels at the local park, playing shuffleboard at the Eagles, and scouring the local flea markets and garage sales with his wife. His favorite pastime was listening to oldies on the radio, a testament to his lifelong love for music. David was always the first to lend a helping hand, a testament to his big heart and generous spirit. His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Heartland Hospice out of Marion, Indiana, for their compassionate care during David's final days.

David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ritter; his children, Melinda Ritter and Brandon Ritter; his grandchildren, Brooklyn Hancock, Daikan Metz, and Kaitlyn Gieger; his great-grandchildren, Lola Callaway, and Stormy Runyan; his sister, Pam Grogan; his uncle, Frank Arehart; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ritter and Elva "Corkie" Crowe; his beloved son, Robert "Davey" Ritter; and his brother, Kimmon Ritter.

A viewing for David will be held at Dunnichay Funeral Home, located at 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana, 46036, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11 am to 3 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 3 pm with Pastor Jim Stout officiating.

We invite you to share your favorite memories and photos of David on his memorial page, as we celebrate the life of a man who enriched the lives of so many.
