David Otto Ritzenthaler - age 84 of Farragut, formerly of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in the Vietnam War. David was a member the Community Church of Tellico Village. He was a retired eye surgeon. David was an avid woodworker belonging to the Woodworking Club in Tellico Village and enjoyed family, golf and bridge.
David was preceded in death by his daughter, Tara Ritzenthaler; parents, Edward and Margaret Ritzenthaler; brother Dick Ritzenthaler; sister Marlene Natvick; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milford and LaVille Clark.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Clark Ritzenthaler of Farragut; sons, Jeff Ritzenthaler and wife, Patty of Atlanta, GA, Trent Ritzenthaler of Tucson, AZ; granddaughters, Sophie, Madison, Kayla (David), Ashley (Brody), Riley and Carmen; great-grandson, Oliver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Linda Ritzenthaler, Chuck Ritzenthaler, Ken and Braketta Ritzenthaler, Tom and Crystal Ritzenthaler; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Dick Weghorn, and Donald Clark, along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11 a.m. at the Community Church at Tellico Village. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse https://www.samaritanspurse.org/.
