David Rivera

David Rivera, 71, of Bradley Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and now resting in the arms of the Lord.

David was born on April 3, 1954, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He was a proud man who deeply loved his culture and carried his heritage with joy throughout his life. Known for his warm spirit and unforgettable laugh, David had a special gift for lifting the hearts of those around him.

He dedicated most of his working life as a seafood filleter, where he was known for his strong work ethic and skill. Outside of work, David loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed going on road trips. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, whom he loved with his whole heart.

David was a devoted father to his three children: David Rivera, Lesandra Rivera, and Cathy Rivera. He found immense joy in being a grandfather to his ten grandchildren and shared an especially beautiful bond with his granddaughter Jaylani Sophia, whom he lovingly babysat and helped teach how to walk.

To his family, David was simply the best dad anyone could ever ask for - loving, present, and full of life. His faith, love, and laughter will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him.

A family viewing will be held at Ely Funeral Home, followed by a Mass service at Trinity Church. Service details will be shared with family and friends.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in God's promise of eternal life and in knowing David's beautiful spirit lives on through the family he loved so dearly.
