David R. Rodriguez

David Rodriguez-Rivera, age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 1, 2026.

He was born in Las Marías, Puerto Rico, later lived in New Jersey, where he met his beloved wife Margarita Perez-Hernandez and together they raised and lovingly cared for their children, Migdalia Perez, Lisette McCann, Magaly Rodriguez, Edwin Rodriguez, David Rodriguez and Victor Rodriguez. After many years of hard work, David retired and moved to San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, where he built a life rooted in love, simplicity and family.

Together, David Rodriguez-Rivera and Margarita Perez-Hernandez were the heart of their family, leading with love and instilling strong values that will continue through generations. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather who cherished his children and grandchildren deeply.

David dedicated 40 years of service as a foreman at Interbake Foods, where he was known for being responsible, reliable, and a hardworking man with strong work ethics. His commitment and integrity defined both his professional life and the way he lived.

He will be most remembered by his children and grandchildren for his funny jokes, words of wisdom, and warm spirit. David's simple and humble approach to life left an everlasting impression on all who knew him.

David has now found eternal peace in heaven alongside his beloved wife, Margarita, where they are reunited and continue a life of everlasting love. His legacy is one of devotion, humility, faith, and laughter, and it will live on through all those who loved him.

David will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Avenue in Rahway, NJ.

Friends and family will gather again at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the funeral home, then proceed to Divine Mercy Parish located at 232 Central Avenue in Rahway, NJ, where a Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 53 Inman Avenue in Colonia, NJ.
