In Loving Memory of David Rusch- with grace and courage, David Rusch peacefully left this world on April 20, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born alongside his twin brother, Erik, on September 19, 1965, to David Sr. and Lucille Rusch, David's journey began in Buffalo, NY, before his family moved to Northglenn, CO. He graduated from Northglenn High School and later pursued his passions in Communications and Music Engineering, earning his first Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Denver in 1996, followed by a second degree in Science and Land Use from Metropolitan State University in 2008.
On May 29, 2004, David married the love of his life, Bonnie Wolff (Haremza). Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure-raising a family, attending festivals, traveling, entertaining loved ones in their backyard, and creating cherished memories with their grandchildren.
David's greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. When he married Bonnie, he embraced her young daughter and son, Brianna and Lucas, as his own, nurturing them with love and support. He was immensely proud to see them grow into the remarkable adults they are today. Nothing delighted him more than being "Papa David" to his five grandchildren, sharing with them the simple joys of life-trips to the park, swimming, snowboarding, exploring Florida's beaches, and simply playing together. His love and guidance extended beyond his own family, as he played an integral role in the lives of his nieces and nephew, "the trips," relishing in the joy of watching them flourish.
A man of many passions, David found beauty in nature-cultivating stunning flower and vegetable gardens, hiking, snowboarding, and playing basketball. His deep love for music spanned all genres, especially those that challenged the average listener.
Professionally, David's career led him in many directions, with his most recent role in the airline industry allowing him and Bonnie to indulge in their shared love of travel.
David's warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit live on in those who loved him. He is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Bonnie; his devoted parents, David Sr. and Lucille Rusch; his cherished children, Brianna Topete (David) and Lucas Wolff (LaRissa); and his treasured grandchildren, Mason, Kinsleigh, Noah, Emma, and Rylee. His loving presence will also be profoundly felt by his siblings, Erik (Janelle) and Nicole (Jim), along with their children, Shamus, Kelly, and Shelby. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including his in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will hold him in their hearts forever.
In honor of David's love for all living things, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter in his memory in lieu of flowers.
