David F. Ryan

David F. Ryan passed away on December 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of intellect, passion, and deep devotion to those he loved. He was a man who took immense pride in his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend.

A lifelong learner, David graduated from Brecksville High School in 1967 and went on to attend Miami University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, graduating in 1971. His commitment to education continued throughout his life, culminating in his Master's degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1986.

David's zest for life was evident in his many hobbies. He was a dedicated member of the Competition Corvette Association, where he shared his love for automotive excellence and served faithfully as the organization's Treasurer. An avid sports fan, he spent many seasons cheering on his favorite home teams and had recently discovered a new joy in playing pickleball. Whether he was at a baseball game or a car show, David brought energy and a smile to everything he did.

Above all, David's heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his son, Shawn (Ashley) Ryan, and his cherished grandchildren, Nora, Eliza, and Colin. He was a dear brother to Marie Melton and Carla Ryan, and a loving uncle to his niece, Melissa.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Ryan; his daughter, Laura Ryan; and his parents, Ralph and Gene Ryan.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH 44095. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in David's honor be made to the American Heart Association.
