David Sauers Obituary
He graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1959. David served in the United States Air Force. On February 26, 1961, he married Sharon R. Jones at Grace Lutheran Church, Columbia City, Indiana. David worked for Dana in the engineering lab for over 35 years. David and Sharon are members of Community Bible Church in Columbia City, Indiana.
David was an aviation enthusiast. He had a pilot's license, loved flying RC airplanes, and later in life flying a flight simulation on his personal computer. He found enjoyment in the quiet focus and freedom they offered. He loved the outdoors as well-whether camping or fishing on a lake he enjoyed spending time in nature. David was an avid euchre player; he never turned down a good game. When it came to food, he was easy to please. Hamburgers were his favorite, but truthfully, he enjoyed just about anything put in front of him. Family was the most important part of David's life. Spending time with them brought him great joy. He and Sharon always looked forward to their time in Florida, giving them time away in the warm weather.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Doug (Kathy) Sauers, Greg (Jan) Sauers, and Deb (Kelly) Johnson; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and brother, Dennis Sauers.
