David Schafer Obituary

David R. Schafer, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at his residence. He was born Nov. 26, 1952, in McKeesport, a son of the late William C. and Madeline Getsie Schafer. Mr. Schafer was a veteran of the Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by one brother, William Schafer and his wife, Peg, of Acme; and two nieces, Adele Feth and her husband, Tom, of Pittsburgh and their children, Tyler and Noah, and Leah Dye and her husband, Matt, of Ruffsdale. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew, Nathan Schafer. There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant.
