David Arthur Scully, 68, of Littleton, dearly loved husband, father, "papa" and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on February 12, 2021. David was the devoted and beloved husband of 39 years to Kathleen Kitterick Scully, whom he married on May 2, 1981. Together, they raised their family in Littleton, MA. In addition to Kathy, David is survived by their three daughters, Shannon (Eric) Michel, Durham, CT; Meghan (Matthew) Schmidt, Holyoke, MA; and Caitlin (Douglas) Ciallella, Nanuet, NY, as well as his four beautiful and incredibly loved grandchildren: Connor, Kellan, Sean, and Mackenzie. David was born in Lewiston, Maine on January 22, 1953, son of the late John Paul Scully, Jr. and Constance M. (née Cullinan) Scully. He was predeceased by his brothers, P. Gregory Scully and Kevin J. Scully, his father-in-law, James Kitterick and brother-in-law, Richard Newman. He is also much loved and survived by his two sisters, Anne Scully Newman of Westbrook, ME and Constance (Frank) Palys of So. Portland, ME, his mother-in-law, Ellen Kitterick, aunt Mary Cullinan, his many sisters- and brothers-in-laws representing the Scully, Cullinan and Kitterick families and his proud Irish Catholic heritage, God-daughters Katherine and Mary, and many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David grew up in South Portland, Maine and was raised to live a life inspired by the six Jesuit values which embraced "service to and for others". He attended Cheverus High School (1971) in Portland and then became a proud "Dolphin," graduating from Le Moyne College (1975) with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations. While at Le Moyne in Syracuse, he made lifelong friends, especially Tony, John B, Joe, Marty, Jim, Tom, John L, Larry, and Mike. David was honored to watch two of his daughters also graduate from Le Moyne. David then enjoyed a fulfilling 31year career as a sales consultant with Shrink Packaging Systems, Inc., together with his "SPS" colleagues who were like "family" to him. David was a devout Catholic and active parishioner of St. Anne Parish in Littleton, MA for the past 35 years, where he volunteered his time and service while sharing his faith. He spent many years teaching religious education and participated with the Men's Group and on Parish Council. He served as an active member of the Society of St Vincent de Paul, helping the local community in need, to which he was so incredibly dedicated. David was an avid New England sports fan, enjoying many Celtics games over the years with Kathy, and of course a good many Sox/Yankees series too, where he would offer a history lesson on the players and game every time. He truly loved all sports, especially Notre Dame where his dad went and ran track. In his younger days, David took pleasure in spending time on the golf course playing 18 holes, or at the beach and ocean, whether it was Maine, Cape Cod or Myrtle Beach with family. David also enjoyed reading, especially a good mystery book, and "factoids" of any kind, delighting in "torturing" his family with these tidbits, which may or may not have been true! He had a wonderful dry sense of humor which often kept us guessing, and on our toes. Family was the most important part of David's daily life. He was so very proud of his three daughters, never passing up a chance to talk about "his girls" to anyone who would listen. He will always be fondly remembered by them for his quick comebacks, sometimes awful jokes, love for Motown music, smooth dance moves, and his sweet tooth. David felt blessed to give his daughters' hands in marriage to three wonderful "sons"-in-law, and was a cherished "Papa" to his four grandchildren, with whom he always enjoyed reading with and listening to their many stories, singing silly songs, molding play-doh, and blowing kisses. David will be so deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family will receive guests on Friday, February 26th from 4-7pm at Badger's Funeral Home; 347 King St, Littleton, MA 01460. Please be mindful of COVID safety recommendations; masking/social distancing will be required. A private mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Anne Church on Saturday, February 27th for family only (due to Covid restrictions), with burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Rd, Littleton MA. A "Celebration of Life Mass" and reception will be planned for the warmer months of 2021 for extended family and friends to gather, reminisce and honor David. David's family wishes to sincerely thank the many compassionate healthcare professionals for their kind and loving care provided to him during this last year. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name can kindly be made to: The Society of St Vincent de Paul: Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Anne's Chapter (75 King St, Littleton, MA); or to a charity of one's choice in David's memory and honor. Kathleen,
Dorothy and I send our deepest sympathy to you and the girls. Reading the beautiful obituary brought back so many memories of youthful adventures in Maine with David and the rest of the Scullys. It was so interesting to see him grow to manhood, from "Greg's little brother" to a strong and devout family man who, I think, enjoyed the regard and respect of all who knew him. God bless you all.

Kathleen and family, I send my sincere condolences to all of you. May David rest in peace in God's Heavenly arms. Although I don't remember him personally, reading through his obituary, I believe I know his soul and David sounds like a beautiful person/soul. I know the Kittericks very well and I know what a strong person he was. Love abounds, and you can't have anything better. A blessed family you have been to have David in your life. I am praying for love and God's healing power to be bestowed upon your family during this difficult time. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Kathleen, It has been a long arduous road and you travelled it with dignity, love, respect , hard work and caring. I am so impressed with your efforts. David endured more than he should have and I find that painful. In the past we had a special friendship
And I keep him in my prayers. I have moved to Wrentham in a senior community five minutes from family. I have medical issues stemming from long term Prednisone usage and old age , being in my
eighties, but I am blessed with sunshine in my life. Be well
