David Louis Seitz, 69, of Concord, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Mr. Seitz was born April 20, 1954 in Moultrie, Georgia to the late David Louis Seitz Sr. and the late Sarah Jean Carter Seitz.
Dave grew up in College Park, Georgia and graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1972. He met and married Tracy in 1974, and was a devoted husband to Tracy for 48 cherished years. Dave became a frozen foods and dairy manager soon after marriage, but left the grocery business to pursue a career in aviation, which led to becoming a freight pilot. He ultimately landed his dream job as a pilot for Piedmont Airlines in 1981 and dedicated 38 years to the skies, retiring in 2019 from American Airlines. Dave's greatest pride was being the father of two exceptional children, Ashley and Eric. He poured his heart and soul into raising them, instilling in them the values of compassion, hard work, and determination. Dave enjoyed a special zest for life that he shared with family and friends that adored him. Family vacations, water skiing on Lake Norman, trips to the white sandy beaches of Florida, and camping were but a few of his joys. In his personal time, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, classic car restoration, and tinkering outdoors in his yard. As Dave's family grew with the addition of grandchildren, so did Dave's heart. His greatest love of all was family, and he was most proud of being a family man. Dave was most happy in the company of those friends and family whom he loved. Passing candy M&M's, hugs, good laughter, and cheer to the grandkids is what Dave enjoyed most about being a grandfather. Dave passed peacefully and in the company of love, with an extraordinary life behind him, at the age of 69.
