David John Sinkus, 68, of Greene Twp., Greenville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in his home.
David was born on February 19, 1955, in Sharon, a son of the late Edward J. and Helen (Banas) Sinkus. He was a 1973 graduate of Hickory High School.
He spent the majority of his career in the steel mills, beginning at Wheatland Tube and then the former Mercer Forge. More recently, he worked as a handyman and did some construction.
David was a member of the United Steelworkers Union, the Jamestown Fireman's Club and the Maennerchor Club, Farrell.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and collecting rocks. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and found great joy in riding.
He is survived by his companion of 40 years, Bonnie Perry, Greenville; seven stepchildren, Boyce Gantz (Marquis), Warren, OH, Belinda Fabian (John Michael), Roaming Shores, OH, Alana Reeves, West Farmington, OH, Tim Crawford (Kelly), South Pymatuning, Twp., Bill Perry (Victoria), Greenville, Dawn Perry (Dave Colich), Farrell, and Dan Perry, Greenville; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three siblings, Janet Horgos (John), West Middlesex, Robert Sinkus (Dina), Irvine, CA, and Richard Sinkus (Jean), Hermitage.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edward Sinkus.
There will be a celebration of David's life will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024, in the Jamestown Fireman's Club, 501 Denver St., Jamestown, PA. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com
Interment: St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
