David Allen Smith, 68, of Buffalo Junction, VA passed away April 22 at the Twin Lakes Rehab in South Hill, Va.He was born in Newport News, VA, on September 26, 1956 to the late Robert Douglas Smith and Ruby Guill Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert D. Smith and a sister Robbie L. Smith. He was also preceded in death by the mother who raised him, Joyce Bradsher Smith, and his beloved dog Bullet. Survivors include his special friend Nada Hundley, a sister Robin Elaine Matheke, (Otto) of Millersville MD, a nephew Sean Deuell (Sherry) of Minot, North Dakota, and a niece Rhea Deuell Pinkney (Drew) of Buford Georgia, a great nephew and three great nieces, numerous other cousins, uncles and aunts, and his dog Sassy. 

David was a good friend to many, who will always remember him fondly. He could fix or repair anything. A machinist by trade, he worked for companies such as PCI, High Valley, and Seimans. He worked in power plants all over the United States, as well as Guatemala and Indonesia. He loved animals, camping, canoeing, and NASCAR.

A memorial service will be held for David on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:00PM in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.  In leiu of flowers please consider the Lake Country SPCA.
