Anne grew up in Blacksburg, VA under the umbrella of her mother & 2 aunts, Louise Allen & Irene Heavener. While studying Accounting at VPI&SU “Virginia Tech”, Anne met and married George. Upon graduation they lived in the Aarons Creek community for 7 years where they developed many everlasting friendships. Anne worked as a bookkeeper for years before operating “The Clarksville Garden Center” in Buffalo Junction. After the untimely death of George at age 59, she helped in the office at Aarons Creek Farms. Her continued interest in local retail lead her to purchase the old Sam Davis Hardware building and open “The Market“ where she worked with local vendors.
She welcomed all new friends and enjoyed the company of those that loved her. Some of her favorite activities over the years were reading, playing bridge, being involved in her retail businesses, visiting Atlantic Beach and annoying her family while Facebooking.
We are thankful for the care givers that assisted her and the Hospice program that allowed her a peaceful journey. Donations are encouraged to Sentara Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14th, at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 10 am to 12pm. The Gordon family would like to invite you to join them to honor Anne's memory.
