Dave Anthony Smith, or as many of you know him as "Turbo", truly lived up to his nickname. He lived life in the fast lane, or shall we say in first class! His spontaneity and generosity made him loved by many. He was compassionate, generous, kind…a true gentleman who always put his family first. He would take care of anyone he met, stranger or not, living up to his role as "the fixer". You could always find him, and hear him, in a social setting with a Michelob Ultra in his hand.

From his humble beginnings in Glasgow, Scotland to the legacy he built with his wife of 40 years, Janice (Dickman), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he dedicated his life to the oil and gas industry. He graduated from Brashear High School in 1980. He then went on to attend Rosedale Tech to become a diesel mechanic, eventually working hard to be a founding member of USA Compression.

He will be missed by so many including daughters Emily (Nick) Huml and Ashley (Dustin) McMurry. His memories will live on through his five grandchildren and one granddog: Landon, Ryan, Noah, Jane, Carly, and Brooksy Bear. He was predeceased by his parents James and Sarah Smith and brother-in-law Jim McGrath, as well as his furry best friend Sir Winston Churchill. He was survived by his sister Fiona McGrath. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Family and Friends are welcome on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211). At the request of the family, all services will be private.

Those who wish to remember Dave in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/).
