Age 59, of Beechview,
passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in his home with his wife of 29 years, Shelly Ptaszkiewicz at his side
.
He was the loving father of Ashley (Sean) Siegel and Emily (Frank) Bachurski. Cherished grandfather and "Papa" of Frankie James Bachurski and Asher Bachurski. Son of Anthony (Lorraine) Chiarelli and the late Anna M. (Grande) Chiarelli. Brother of Antonette (Dale) Saller and Joseph (the late Laura) Chiarelli. Tony will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews: Tony Chiarelli, Lee Saller, Kristy Chiarelli, Joe Chiarelli, Dale Saller, Jennifer Chiarelli, Dan Chiarelli, and Sarah Morante, as well as his step-children, Brittany Thorpe and Kaylee (Grant) Bleil, and their children Desiree Philman, Breanna Philman, and Easton Bleil.
The youngest of three children, Tony was born on June 22, 1965 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Anthony Chiarelli and the late Anna (Grande) Chiarelli. Growing up in Beechview, he attended grade school at Beechwood Elementary and then continued on to high school at Brashear High School. Tony was employed at Matthews Bronze International for over 22 years as a tool caster, where he casted bronze plaques and perfected them with intricate tools, making them 100% handmade
. Tony's dedication to his work was unwaverin
g. He started his work day at 3 a.m. every day, continuing this routine until the arthritis in his hands made it physically impossible. A tireless worker, it was incredibly difficult for him to step away and retire at a young age. The transition took a significant emotional toll on him. In his early years, Tony was a kick boxer and karate student, spending many years as a martial arts advocate. Later he became a karate instructor at the Pennsylvania Karate Academy, where students bowed, referring to him as "Sensei". He was a member of the Beechview Loyal Order of the Moose - Lodge 690, and lived a simple life, proud of his family, his many friends, and his Italian heritage.
Friends will be received on Monday, May 19th, from 4 p.m. until time of Loyal Order of the Moose 'Service of Tribute' at 6:45 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Interment will be held privately.

Toto - I am so sorry to see you leave us so young, I absolutely loved living next door to all of you on Fallowfield - your brother Joey was instrumental in saving my life, and we were all one big family of neighbors back then.

I´ll see you soon Tony - and I pray that Gods Grace will welcome you and I both into paradise. My sincere condolences to those of you I don´t know - it´s been many years since I´ve spoken to "Toto" - he´ll always be Toto to me.

All my love - Billy Lasko
